Does ShapeChef work with Office for Mac?

ShapeChef is available only for PowerPoint 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019 and 2021 for Windows. We have looked into developing a Mac version of ShapeChef, but unfortunately, Office for Mac doesn’t provide the necessary interfaces.

ShapeChef isn’t working as expected. What can I do?

The first thing you should check is whether you are using the latest version of ShapeChef. You can do this by clicking the Check for Updates button in the ShapeChef Ribbon.

If your version of ShapeChef is up-to-date, please contact us describing the problem. If possible, please also include the log files (*.log), which you can find under the following file path:

%LocalAppData%\ShapeChef\Logs

We will do our best to get back to you with a solution.

How do I enter my license code to unlock the full version?

To enter the license details, please start PowerPoint, and switch to the “ShapeChef” Ribbon. Next, click the “Enter License Code” button. You can then input the name and license code sent in your order confirmation email.

Why isn’t ShapeChef loading in PowerPoint?

If the installation was successful but the ShapeChef Ribbon doesn’t appear, it’s possible that the add-in has been disabled by PowerPoint. You can check this by following the steps below:

  • Click the File tab (in PowerPoint 2010/2013/2016/2019/2021) or the Office Button (in PowerPoint 2007).
  • Click the Options button and select Add-Ins.
  • For ShapeChef to work, it must be listed in the Active Application Add-ins section.

If ShapeChef appears under Inactive Application Add-ins, you can activate it as follows:

  • In the Manage drop-down box, select COM Add-ins, and then click Go.
  • Tick the checkbox next to ShapeChef and click OK.

If ShapeChef is in the Disabled Application Add-ins section, you can enable it as follows:

  • In the Manage drop-down box, select Disabled Items, and then click Go.
  • Select Addin: ShapeChef (adxloader.dll), click Enable, and then close the dialog window.
  • In the Manage drop-down box, select COM Add-ins, and then click Go.
  • Tick the checkbox next to ShapeChef, and click OK.

If the steps above don’t solve the problem, please send us a message.
